About Amy

Amy Jacobson is a seasoned Chicago broadcaster known for her work in both television and radio. Born on November 11, 1969, in Mount Prospect, Illinois, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Iowa in 1991 with a degree in broadcasting and film. Her journalism career began with an internship at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, followed by reporting roles at KSAX-TV in Minnesota, KOLD-TV in Tucson, KVIA-TV in El Paso, and WJBK-TV in Detroit.

In 1996, Jacobson joined WMAQ-TV (NBC 5 Chicago) as a general assignment reporter, covering major events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Chicago White Sox's 2005 World Series run. 

Transitioning to radio, Jacobson contributed to WLS-AM's "Roe Conn Show" and "Mancow & Cassidy Show" before joining AM 560 WIND in 2010. She just finished 16 years hosting "Chicago’s Morning Answer" alongside Dan Proft, providing political commentary and news analysis. 

Throughout her career, Jacobson has been recognized for her reporting, including multiple Chicago Emmy Awards.
